Magicard Ultima - Setting Network Connection

Modified on Mon, 11 Oct 2021 at 09:06 AM

If your Static IP address is not remaining make sure you change network parameters with the printer connected via the USB Port.

To set a static IP Address the Ultima must be provisionally connected via USB to a local PC.

Once this is done and the Driver is temporarily installed you can download the Reverse Transfer User Tool here:

Again, once this is installed, launch and connect via USB.

They’ll be an Ethernet tab, like this:

Add the network settings, select Static and then “Set All Data” (note: my screen capture is greyed out as I don’t have a printer connected).

Now the settings have been deployed you can close the tool.

Restart the Ultima

To verify the IP has been accepted you can use the LCD GUI (Tools -> Settings -> IP Address)

Power ff the Ultima.

Remove the USB Cable and connect via LAN.

Power On

At this point its useful to ping the device, it should return valid data.

Disconnect the LAN and ensure the ping is dropped (if not, another device is causing a conflict).

Reconnect again and then install the Driver for Ethernet on each PC which needs to access the printer.

For “belt and braces” you could run the above Reverse Transfer Tool on each client, but this time choosing Ethernet option and keying in the static IP.

Correct operation is when all the tabs are accessible.

Finally, try a Windows Test page via the Driver to test operation.
