To configure the Keyboard Wedge output on you HID Omnikey 5427 CK please do the following…
1 . Make sure the reader’s drivers are installed (these can be found at https://www.hidglobal.com/drivers ) and the device shows up in Device Manager as an Omnikey 5127CK like below.
https://www.hidglobal.com/drivers/39910
https://www.hidglobal.com/drivers/34881
2. Now access Omnikey 5427CK web interface, just enter in URL in your web browser: http://192.168.63.99 (this URL may need to be allowed though a security firewall)
3. Click the “Keyboard Wedge” tab and tick “Keyboard Wedge Enable”, also select Keyboard layout as UK.
4. Now click the “Card In Config” tab. On the card type drop down select MIFARE Classic. Tick “Enable MIFARE Classic” and also “CSN”
5. There are two other settings that need taking in to account. A Mifare UID can be read in different ways. The main two are DEC (decimal) and HEX (Hexidecmal). If your Mifare numbers when entered onto the access system has only digits 0-9 t will be a DEC number, if the number has 0-9 + A-F it will be HEX. Also the number can be in reverse byte order on some systems. Use the two options below to set a DEC or HEX output and change the byte order until the number the card outputs matches the one you need to enter on your access system.
6. To save the changes to the reader click the “System Config” tab and click “Apply changes” and “Reboot system”.
7. The reader will reboot and should now appear as a Keyboard Device. If you open up Notepad and present a Mifare card to the reader the UID of the card should by automatically outputted to document.
