There is a test tool available for the Elatec TWN4 MultiTech 2 encoder.
You can download it from here;
https://techs.magicard.com/tmp/elatec_test_tool.zip
Extract the MSI installer from the zip archive and run it.
It doesn't create a desktop shortcut, and calls itself SmartTesting.
If you want to find the folder it is in the create a shortcut, it is in
Program Files (x86)\Magicard\Magicard Gen 2 Elatec Testing Tool
But you can search for it in the Start menu
First part of the test, look for the encoder either in Device Manager;
Or in Devices & Printers (on the Devices section at the top) however, you should see the actual encoders;
To test, run the SmartTesting utility;
You won’t see much until you click the Check ATR button (even without a card present);
Clicking that button without a card present will show;
Load a card to the contactless encoding position in the printer here;
Printer Properties -> Encoding -> To contactless encoder -> Move
Once the card is in position, click the Check ATR button;
You should then see the ATR (answer to reset) from the card;
It's a basic utility at the moment but Magicard are hopeful it will have more features in the future.
