All HDP6600/5000e Printers
Solution: There are multiple reasons that would cause the HDP6600/5000e to fail to print that results in error 544. Usually this is due to Color Correction, Firmware, or Ethernet/USB communication issue.
1. Check Firmware and Driver versions and update if needed. Website downloads link -
https://www.hidglobal.com/drivers
2. If using USB, check USB Cable. Make sure it's the one that came with the printer and is less than 6ft. If going through USB Hub or a dock attempt to plug in USB directly to PC.
3. If using Ethernet attempt to connect/print via USB and see if the issue continues. If it does look into issues with ethernet cord/outlet
4. Go to Printing Preferences - Advanced - Color Correction and set to Legacy or None.
5. Make sure Windows security settings in Printer properties for 'Print', 'Manager this Printer', and 'manage documents' are set to allow for all Users and Groups.
