You can also use the Registry to enable or disable Core isolation Memory integrity using Registry Editor. If you need to disable core isolation to install a printer and the option to do so is greyed out in the Windows security screen. You can instead disable it by doing the following:
Precaution: Before heading to the REGEDIT steps, don’t forget to create a System Restore point.
1. In the Windows search bar, type 'Registry Editor' and select the first option
2. Now in the top search bar paste in the following file path:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\DeviceGuard\Scenarios\HypervisorEnforcedCodeIntegrity
3. Now double click the option that reads 'Enabled', it should currently be set to '1', change this to '0' and click 'OK'
4. Once you have done this, you should be able to go back to the core isolation option in Windows security and the toggle will now enable you to set it to off. Don't forget to reset your PC to commit the change.
