This error may come up if you're moving your data around. This software uses something called an ODBC link to connect to the database the software works from and if you get this error then this link has been broken, but it's easy to fix.

First you need to know if you have a 32bit or 64bit PC. To do this, right click My PC, or This PC, or My Computer somewhere, and then click on properties. It should then show the system specification and tell you if it is 32 or 64bit.

If you have a 64bit machine, go to C:\Windows\SysWOW64 and open odbcad32

If you have a 32bit machine, go to C:\Windows\System32 and open odbcad32

On the next screen, if you see a connection that is related to the project name in Badgemaker/Securit under either of the User DSN or System DSN tabs then you will need to select it and click configure.

Otherwise, click on Add... and select "Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)"

On the next screen, click on Select... and find the database for the project, by default this will be in C:\SC\BMx400\Projects\<Project Name>

Once this is done, enter the name of the database file in "Data Source Name:" but without the .mdb at the end. In the example above "DEMO6400.MDB" is just "DEMO6400".

Once you hit OK, your project should start working again.
