If you are getting ribbon errors on the Quantum It will be a belt inside the machine that is starting to ware.
If the new ribbon your customer prints with works ok without an issue it could be a problem with the Printer. The Transport belt for Ribbon could be have worn and the issue only appears near the end of the Ribbon.
You could try to check if you take out the Ribbon and push the Gear to the right and left side. It must switch back to the “home position”
If not the brown belt is warn.
