Mifare Encoder Not Found Error with IDP Printer

If you have an IDP Smart 51 or 31  Printer and there is a message reporting "Mifare Encoder not found"  it is usually the SmartComm2.dll file installed as part of the EasyBadge installation file is not compatible with the newer Omnikey 5122 encoder.  

Making these changes should resolve the issue.

 1. Click the menu button ( 3 lines top left)

2. Selected Settings ( at the bottom of the list)

3. On the “Printing” page make sure “IDP Printer Prints” is set to “Force SDK”.  Also enabling IDP DCL Mode. Click OK to confirm changes.

5. You then need to update the SmartComm2.dll file. 

SmarComm2.dl v2151 is the latest smart comm file used and is attached. It can also b found on the latest IDP Install CD for the 51 + 31 printers at www.idp-corp.com

Replace the SmarComm2.dl file found in the EasyBadge directory below with the new file.  

C:\Program Files (x86)\EasyBadge

6. Once you have completed these actions try re-printing a card. The error should not appear.
